Cam and Assembly Lube

Summary

Cam and Assembly Lube is a premium lubricant designed specifically to provide maximum lubrication and to protect against scoring, scuffing and coking of cams and mettallic surfaces. It provides superior lubrication when assembling rebuilt engines. It contains friction reducing additives which provide greatly reduced friction and anti-wear protection.

Description

Cam and Assembly Lube is scientifically compounded with a special blend of the highest quality base oils, thickeners and exclusive additives. This premium blend provides the following outstanding features:

    * Extreme pressure protection which prevents metal to meal contact and protects against wear and scuffing of the metal surfaces.

    * Adhesive additives which makes it adhere to the metal surfaces and to provide the critical lubrication necessary during break-in.

    * Anti-oxidant protection which combats oil thickening and oil oxidation.
    * Corrosion protection which minimizes rusting and corrosion of the metal parts.

Comparison Tests
May 28, 2001

Comparison Tests #1

F3= Formula 3TM Assembly Lube formulated by Lubrication Specialists, Inc. and supplied to Schneider Racing Cams and all others who really care about their engines.

#2= P/N 5198563, #2 compound formulated by another leading manufacturer.

On May 28, 2001, a standard lubricity test was conducted on a Falex Lubricity Machine using standard test bearings supplied by Falex Corporation comparing F3 with #2. In addition, a test was conducted for the presence of Chlorine in both products. Both samples tested negative for chlorine by-products.

Both samples were subjected to ten (10) tests where weights were added until bearings seized. The raw data recordings were:

Test#..................................F3................................#2

..1........................................30..................................33
..2........................................51+................................21
..3........................................51+**.............................7
..4........................................42..................................15
..5........................................51+................................31
..6........................................51+................................32
..7........................................51+................................10
..8........................................51+................................24
..9........................................51+................................14
..10......................................51+................................25

**Note: Additional pressure could have been applied in all tests of 51+ but reached the weight limits of fixture. It is unknown how much additional weight could have been added. Dropping the highest and lowest score (red), & taking the averages: F3 = 49.88. S2 = 21.5. Applying 30,000psi formula: F3 average = 1,496,000psi. #2 average = 645,000psi. Conclusion, Formula 3 tested 2.32 plus better than S2.
